What Each Warranty Covers
Understand every layer of protection that comes with your SunPol Solar installation.
Four Layers of Protection
When you purchase your system outright, you get the most comprehensive warranty stack available. You're protected by both the equipment manufacturers and SunPol Solar's own guarantees on our work.
- Panel manufacturer warranty (25+ years) — covers defects and guarantees your panels will produce at least 80–85% of rated output at year 25. If they don't, the manufacturer repairs or replaces them.
- Microinverter warranty (25 years) — covers hardware failures and electrical defects in the inverters that convert DC power to AC for your home.
- SunPol workmanship warranty (10 years) — our guarantee that the installation was done right. Covers wiring, connections, mounting, racking, and all electrical work performed by our team. After 10 years, manufacturer warranties still apply but service calls carry a labor cost.
- SunPol roof penetration warranty (10 years) — guarantees every hole we drill for mounting will not cause roof leaks. If it does, we fix it at no cost to you.

Prepaid Lease Coverage Timeline
Warranty by the PPA Provider
With a Power Purchase Agreement , you don't own the solar system — the third-party PPA provider does. That means all warranty coverage, maintenance, and repairs are their responsibility for the duration of your agreement.
You simply pay for the electricity produced at a rate lower than your utility. If panels need repair or replacement, the PPA provider handles it — not you.
- Third-party owns the system — all warranty obligations fall on the PPA provider
- Maintenance and repairs included — it's in the provider's interest to keep panels producing
- Terms defined in your PPA contract — review the agreement carefully to understand coverage scope and duration
- SunPol is here to help — we'll walk you through the PPA warranty terms so you know exactly what's covered

Warranty FAQs
Common questions about solar warranty coverage in Connecticut.
Cash purchase installations include four layers of protection: a 25-year or longer manufacturer panel warranty, a 25-year microinverter warranty, a 10-year SunPol workmanship warranty covering our installation labor, and a 10-year roof penetration warranty guaranteeing no leaks from our mounting work.
With SunPol Solar's prepaid lease , your system is covered by full service and maintenance for the entire 20-year lease term. If anything goes wrong with the panels, inverters, wiring, or mounting, we handle it at no additional cost to you. At the end of the lease, you can purchase the system at fair market value, renew for 5 more years (with monthly or prepaid payment options plus additional system protection), or have the system removed for free.
With a Power Purchase Agreement, you do not own the solar system. The third-party PPA provider owns the panels and is responsible for all warranty coverage, maintenance, and repairs for the duration of the agreement. You simply pay for the electricity produced at a rate lower than your utility. SunPol Solar can help you understand the specific warranty terms in your PPA contract.
Yes. For cash purchase installations, SunPol Solar provides a 10-year roof penetration warranty. This guarantees that our solar mounting work will not cause roof leaks. If a leak occurs at any penetration point we installed within the warranty period, we repair it at no cost. For prepaid lease customers, roof penetration is also covered by a 10-year warranty.
Solar panel manufacturers include a production guarantee as part of their 25-year or longer warranty. This typically guarantees your panels will produce at least 80–85% of their rated output at the end of 25 years. If panels degrade faster than guaranteed, the manufacturer will repair or replace them. For prepaid lease customers, SunPol handles this process directly on your behalf.
A manufacturer warranty covers defects in the solar panels and microinverters themselves — things like cell degradation, electrical failures, or hardware malfunctions. SunPol Solar's workmanship warranty covers the quality of our installation labor — wiring, connections, mounting, and electrical work. Together, they protect you from both equipment and installation issues. Learn more about how solar works on our Connecticut solar company page.
