These terms explain how the SunPol Solar Referral Program works. SunPol LLC ("SunPol," "we," "us") runs the program. By registering a referral, you (the "referrer") agree to these terms.
1. The reward
We pay a $500 referral reward for each qualified referral. There is no limit on how many people you can refer.
2. When a referral qualifies
A referral qualifies, and the $500 reward is earned, only after all three of these steps are complete:
- Installation. The referred homeowner signs an agreement for a solar system installed by SunPol (with SunPol or one of our financing partners), and the system is installed.
- Permission to Operate. The local utility grants Permission to Operate (PTO) for the system.
- Payment received. SunPol has received the full amount due for the referred homeowner's project, as finally agreed with the homeowner, including any funds from a lender or financing partner.
We send the reward within 30 days after the last of these three steps is complete, or within 30 days after we receive your Form W-9 if Section 9 requires one. Utility approval and financing can take several weeks or longer after installation, so expect some time between installation and payment.
3. Who can refer
- Anyone 18 or older. You do not need to be a SunPol customer.
- Not eligible: SunPol employees; sales representatives, contractors or installation partners who are paid for SunPol sales or projects; and anyone who finds customers as a business, such as lead generators, home improvement salespeople or contractors.
- You cannot refer yourself, your own home, or a home you co-own.
4. Who you can refer
- A homeowner in Connecticut or Massachusetts whose home is in an area SunPol serves.
- The person must be new to SunPol: not already a SunPol customer, and not already in contact with SunPol about solar before your referral is registered.
5. How to register a referral
- With your friend's permission, email contact@sunpolsolar.com or call (860) 747-6527 with your name, phone number and email, plus your friend's name, email address and town.
- Or ask your friend to give us your name when they first contact SunPol.
- The referral must be registered before the referred homeowner signs their solar agreement.
- A referral stays open for 12 months from registration. If the homeowner signs after that, no reward is owed.
- One reward per home. If more than one person refers the same homeowner, the first referral we receive gets the reward.
6. Respect your friend's privacy
- Share someone's contact details only if they have agreed.
- SunPol emails a referred friend once to introduce ourselves. We do not call or text a referred friend unless they contact us or agree in writing.
- Do not send spam, make unwanted calls or texts, or post anyone's personal information publicly.
- If your friend becomes a customer, we may tell you so we can pay you. We do not share their other details.
7. Your role
- You are not an employee, agent or representative of SunPol. You cannot sign anything, make promises or speak for SunPol.
- Your part is only to introduce your friend. Do not go door to door, cold-call, advertise, hand out flyers or pay anyone to find referrals, and do not join sales meetings or negotiate for SunPol. Do not quote prices, savings, incentives or contract terms. Our team explains those directly.
- When you recommend SunPol, in person or online (for example, on social media or in a review), say that SunPol may pay you a referral reward.
- Do not use the SunPol name or logo in ads, or in any way that suggests you represent SunPol.
8. The reward is not a discount
The reward is a thank-you for an introduction. It is not a discount or rebate on any SunPol system, is never offered as part of a sale, and does not change the price or terms of anyone's agreement with SunPol, including your own. The reward is the same whether or not you are a SunPol customer, and it is never credited against anything you owe SunPol or a lender. We never pay rewards for reviews or testimonials, and a reward never depends on what you say about SunPol.
9. Payment and taxes
- We pay the registered referrer by check or electronic payment. Rewards cannot be transferred.
- If the referral rewards we pay you in a calendar year reach the IRS reporting threshold ($2,000 for payments made in 2026), we need a completed IRS Form W-9 before we pay, and we will send you the required tax form. You are responsible for any taxes on rewards.
10. When no reward is owed
- The project is cancelled or does not complete all three steps in Section 2.
- The referral was not registered as described in Section 5, is a duplicate, or is a self-referral.
- Information provided was false or misleading, or these terms were materially broken.
11. Changes to the program
We may change or end this program at any time by updating this page. Referrals registered before a change, or before the program ends, are handled under the terms in effect when they were registered.
