“The price was much less than the big company. SunPol kept me updated every step of the way. Installation day was a breeze. They are not a pushy company at all.”

A prepaid solar lease is a single upfront payment that covers 25 years of solar energy, maintenance, monitoring, and equipment coverage — with no monthly bill. The homeowner pays once at signing, locks in energy costs at 15–30% less than buying the system outright, and the lease transfers to the next homeowner at no cost if the home is sold. System must be in service by December 31, 2027. How the Prepaid Solar Lease works →

SunPol Solar offers three ways to go solar in Connecticut and Massachusetts: the Prepaid Solar Lease, a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and a cash purchase. The Prepaid Solar Lease — one upfront payment for 25 years of solar, maintenance, and monitoring — is the most popular option. The PPA requires $0 down with a fixed monthly rate. Cash purchase gives full ownership, but the federal residential tax credit is no longer available for homeowners. The only way to still receive the 30% upfront discount is through a prepaid lease or PPA. Compare financing options →

The window closes December 31, 2027.

The Prepaid Solar Program depends on the federal Investment Tax Credit passed to your lease provider. That credit steps down after 2027 — once it's gone, this pricing is gone.

Everything you need to know.

The federal Investment Tax Credit gave homeowners a 30% tax refund after purchasing a solar system — but that program ended in 2025. SunPol's Prepaid Solar Program offers up to 30% off the system cost upfront, with no tax filing required. The savings are immediate at signing, not dependent on tax season or IRS processing.

The exact savings depend on your system size, which is based on your roof and energy usage. A typical Massachusetts home might save $8,000–$15,000 compared to buying the same system outright with cash. Your free consultation includes a custom savings breakdown for your specific home.

The Prepaid Solar Program transfers to the next homeowner at no cost. Solar homes sell for an average of 4.1% more than comparable homes without solar — so the system is an asset, not a liability. The new owner inherits the remaining years of prepaid energy and full warranty coverage.

We evaluate your roof condition during the consultation. If your roof needs replacement in the near future, we'll let you know upfront — we never install on a roof that can't support 25 years of solar. Honesty about roof condition is part of why our customers trust us.
